Geocache Description:

Black Wildebeest

Connochaetes gnou

A smaller and darker equivalent to the Blue Wildebeest. The face and throat has long brushlike hair. Has a long tail and the basis of the stiff mane is white. Front and upward bent horns are reminiscent of bicycle handles.

They live only off grass in open veld.

Height: 120 cm
Length: 250 cm
Horns: 52 cm
Weight: Males 180 kg, females 100kg.
