Geocache Description:

This is stage 1 of a 2 stage multi geocache intended to be a tribute to The Tragically Hip. Stage 1 must be completed before you can complete stage 2.

This cache is located at strabane park which has parking and a paved walking path. It is dog friendly and is Accessible year round. Snow may cause extra difficulty getting to the cache if it is not plowed at the time. Once you find the cache there will be a fun trivia puzzle to solve. It is a small "decoder" geocache. You will need an online device in order to search for the answer to the trivia question. The answer will give you the combination and coordinates for the final stage. Once you have found the cache, you need to answer the following trivia question: The Tragically Hip played a music festival at Courtcliffe park in Carlisle in 1991. What was the 8th song from the set list played at the concert. Once you have the answer, take the first letter from each word in the song title and line them up on the hidden cache with the nut that says "letter". Once that is done flip over the cache and you will see the 3 numbers lined up with the nut that says "number" those 3 numbers will open the lock to the cache in Part 2. Now take those same 3 numbers and add them to 4322620. The answer will give you your north coordinates ( N 043 YY.YYY ) Next you will substract the same 3 numbers from this number 7960598. The answer will give you your West coordinates ( W 079 YY.YYY ) Don't forget to write down the 3 number combination for the final cache. Also once you find the final cache, make sure you enter the combination on the side of the lock that says "the hip"or it won't open. Now you can move on to the final stage where you will find a large container with log book and other small tradeable trinkets and a keepsake. Please tell us any memories or moments you would like to share about the hip in our log book, along with your names and date. We would love to spread love in honour of the hip and the late Gord Downie. His legacy will never fade...RIP Gord. Congratulations to Foam follower on FTF!
