De watertoren van Bredene werd in 1956 in gebruik genomen. De bijzonderste karakteristieken zijn de inhoud van 800m3 , het gemiddeld peil van de kuip: 43 m en grondpeil: 4,10 m. De top van de watertoren 'torent' 50,58 m boven het voetpad. De toren heeft een diameter van 18,50 m aan de voet en 15,15 m aan de kroon. In 1977 vond een eerste grote herstelling van het metselwerk plaats. In 1994 werd de mantel volledig gerenoveerd. Tevens werden in 1995 de voorzieningen getroffen om op de 6e verdieping een panoramisch zicht door 10 vensters te creëren. Op de 6e verdieping en op het gelijkvloers wordt een permanente tentoonstelling gehouden over waterwinning en de rol van 'water' in ons dagelijks leven.
Openingsuren: april t.e.m. september: 1e zaterdag van de maand, van 14-16 uur. juli en augustus: elke zaterdag van 14-16 uur. heel het jaar op afspraak (voor groepen) bij de dienst toerisme.
Wat moet je doen om deze virtual te loggen:
1: Neem een gepersonaliseerde foto (gezicht ,gsm, hand enz... ) met op de achtergrond de watertoren zoals voorbeeld en plaats hem bij je log. Logs zonder foto worden zonder verwittigen verwijderd.
