Preface
When I received the e-mail from GC HQ informing me that I was one of 4,000 worldwide recipients of a “Virtual Reward” cache because I'm somehow in the "top 1%" of cache hiders based on the results of their secret algorithm, I must admit that I didn’t take it seriously and assumed that a lot of cachers in this area would probably be getting one too. However, even though I can think think of any number of people who are equally if not more deserving of this Signal honor than me, I soon learned that this was not the case and it gradually dawned on me that I should really try to do something meaningful with it. As I’ve only ever hidden puzzle caches since I first began caching almost twelve years ago, I felt justified in trying to incorporate a puzzle into my Virtual somehow. I looked to see where older Virtuals had been placed and it turns out not too surprisingly that two of the most logged Virtual Caches in Oklahoma City are located at the OKC National Memorial. Now, I had just a day earlier railroaded my daughter and her Chicagoan friend into visiting the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum since, despite its unwieldy name, it's actually a world class museum that attracts many visitors to the city and never ceases to impress. It's also only a few miles down the road from my house and so I felt this would be a perfect location for a Virtual. This being my favorite museum in Oklahoma City, the thought of highlighting some of its best pieces via a puzzle soon crossed my mind and so what I've prepared is a short virtual tour that's less a traditionally difficult JamGuys puzzle and more a sampling of one of the finest collections of Western art in the country. To all my geocaching friends and acquaintances, thanks for your support over the years (and your favorite points!) and I hope that I've done veritable justice to this reward. It's my wish that everyone who logs this cache will enjoy visiting the museum and be as impressed as I was when I first wandered in many years ago with fairly low expectations only to be completely blown away by the exceedingly high quality and incredible beauty of the artwork on display.
