Geocache Description:

Welcome to Golden Ranches! This natural area is managed in partnership between the Edmonton and Area Land Trust, Nature Conservancy of Canada, Alberta Fish and Game Association, and Alberta Conservation Association. This mosaic of grassland habitat, ponds, and forest is a place filled with wildlife. More habitat for wildlife is created by having a bat box, which is installed here! Bat boxes can hold up to hundreds of bats (and their pups) during the summer.

Park at the gate along Twp. 515 and follow the informal road up towards a dugout. As you get closer, there is an old fence line to follow near the dugout. Watch your step as there are many fallen trees hidden under the grass, as well as saplings planted! The bat box should be in view from across the dugout, and the geocache hidden somewhere nearby
