Now to finding the treasure. If you have not already discovered The Kettles Trails near Coupeville, you are in for a PNW treat. Not only is the geology of the area fascinating, but experiencing the trails on foot, horseback, or bicycle is better than therapy. Best to have a map of The Kettles on your adventure as the trail system can be confusing. A printable map (in PDF) that includes The Kettles Trails and Fort Ebey State Park can be found here.
You can also stop by the ranger’s station at Fort Ebey State Park and pick up a map. While hiking in either area, please note and abide by the restrictions posted for each trail. Four access points provide entrée to The Kettles from Hiway 20. North to south they are: Main Line Gate, Lower Ridge Gate, Roundabout Gate, and Kettles Gate. NOTICE: September 1 to December 31 is hunting season in The Kettles. Wear florescent clothing for visibility.
