St Mary's Parish Church Chard

C14 but rebuilt C15 on the site of an ancient crossroads
which at least two other churches have stood on.
The main enterance of the church is at the west bell tower,
the tower is home to 8 bells and the clock that chimes every quarter hour
and is known as 'Chard Chimes'.
The main nave of this church is a big modern affair with a rather nice high ceiling.
The nave has north & south porches, the north transcpit has an old oak roof while
the south transcpit is home of the impressive large organ.
The chancel also has a nice ceiling to add to this modern
day religious church with all the modern setting.
