Geocache Description:

There are over 5 miles of trails in the Elise Chapin Wildlife Sanctuary at Audubon Acres and we will spend a couple hours doing trail maintenance and trash pick-up on a section that the staff will choose.    Water, snacks, trash sacks and bug repellant provided.

Join the Chattanooga Area Geocachers at a beautiful wildlife sanctuary along South Chickamauga Creek, near the TN/GA state line!

Meet at Audubon Acres Visitors Center.  Gates open at 9:00 AM.

Event is 9:15-11:45 AM.  The afternoon is then yours to explore the wildlife sanctuary and find the 4 (or more...) caches on the property !

Please wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes; no sandals or flip-flops!  Some areas of  Audubon Acres will require a moderate walk to reach the trail section.  Depending on the number of attendees, we can divide into teams and work multiple trails.

Bring gloves and any pruning loppers.   We may spend time trimming branches and bushes that block a trail.

THINGS TO KNOW:

  • This is a wildlife sanctuary, so no pets.
  • Trails are unpaved and most are not suitable for strollers.
