Writer Maurice Sendak was born on this day, June 10, in 1928, and grew up to write and illustrate "Where The Wild Things Are," probably the first genuinely cool book you ever read. Dude single-handedly invented the phrase "wild rumpus." Let's honor him.
A special geo prize for those who come dressed in theme, be it a full-on Max costume, a Wild Things t-shirt, claws or fangs, pointy ears, a crown, a furry tail, and so on.
