The Ruth Paine House Museum
Tours start at The Visitors Center on the third floor of the old Irving Central Library at 801 W. Irving Blvd. here in Irving. A special van takes you to visit the actual house.
The Ruth Paine House is where Lee Harvey Oswald, alleged assassin of John F. Kennedy, spent the night November 22nd. His wife was renting a room there. The next day shots supposedly fired by Oswald rang out in Dallas at Dealey Plaza the next day claiming the life of President Kennedy.
In 2009 the City of Irving purchased the Ruth Paine House to preserve its historical integrity. In 2013, the city created a museum in the house so that visitors can glimpse back in time with the holographic displays within the house preserved to look much like it did in 1963.
