Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the above co-ordinates. To find it, use the image below from the relevant Ordnance Survey Explorer map - with the handy mystery cache icon showing you exactly where it is.

Anyone who's solved my 'X marks the spot' cache knows I'm a huge fan of OS maps. They're unparalleled in their accurate depiction of footpaths, bridleways and public rights of way. So help you find the cache, I've taken a snapshot of the OS Explorer Map and marked it exactly with the mystery icon and a little pointer underneath it to make things nicely precise.

To make it a bit more of a challenge than X marks the spot, I've airbrushed out nearly everything, this time. ALL the identifying text, contour lines, boundaries, buildings and all those handy little Ordnance Survey icons which tell you what sort of trees are here and what the terrain might be like. I've also zoomed in quite a bit. Well, a LOT actually, so what you see here might be quite a lot bigger than it appears on the map. Or did I zoom out and make it smaller....? I can't remember. I don't expect it will matter . You're now left with some colours and a line . I might also have turned it round a few times and flipped it through 180 degrees... or back again... and maybe several times... possibly....I've saved the new version here.

Once you have your guess, pop it in the checker for extra info about parking and access. It will also give you the exact co-ords if you haven't got it quite right. Mind you, the checker is a little bit less generous this time.

I'd appreciate logs not containing any info about which mention caches you may have done before or afterwards - which would rather give the game away, wouldn't it?! Any finders whose logs include such information may be asked to edit them. I wouldn't recommend searching for this cache at night. Access isn't restricted but it's very close to some barbed wire, which you may not see in the dark.

EDIT May 2018 - GZ has changed a great deal. While the cache was still in place and intact when I visited, the situation no longer matched the 2-star terrain rating I had allocated. I have moved the cache just under 30 feet away to a new location and amended the final co-ordinates and the geochecker to reflect the new position. If you have already worked out the 'old' final location but not yet found the cache, I suggest you revisit the geochecker for the new co-ords.
