Join this exploratory hike on the 930-acre Reserve of the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association. Will there be snow again this year? Hike out onto the Reserve with Naturalist Jeff Hoagland, getting an enthusiast's and insider’s view of winter. Bring binoculars or field guides if you wish as we explore forest and meadow. The hike will be followed by some hot cider and exquisite apple cider donuts. The hike will be less than two miles and will be adjusted for weather or trail conditions. You will learn about winter ecology - meet and talk to winter birds, search for voles, look for signs of fox, admire winter weeds, and other crazy things naturalists do. Snowfall or snow cover, as in the past, will turn this event into a tracking adventure. Heavy snow or ice could cancel - CHECK HERE on the morning of the event.
