First thing in the morning, on Christmas day
Santa gets out, to prepare his sleigh
He stops in his tracks
When he finds what he lacks -
Three colorful reindeer, chewing on hay
He thinks to himself: I know there were more
If I remember correctly, I'm now missing four
All is not right -
There was mischief last night
Someone's trying to send me a message for sure!
But wait! Sending a message like this takes a pro
Since the reindeer mingle and walk around in the snow
And had I looked from another direction
I should still have been able to make the connection
These are certainly things that the sender must know
He suddenly spotted a note on the ground -
had it been placed there just to confound?
"Why would you care
About what isn't there?
It amounts to nil, at least that's what I've found"
