Church / Denomination (From Blaine Leippi) The Lutheran church was located where the cross is situated. The church was moved into the town of Davin in the 1920's. It was established 1909, 1 Mile (1.6 km) West of Davin. First internment was Emil Theodor Renger 17 Jun 1909.
Davin is a hamlet in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Listed as a designated place by Statistics Canada, the hamlet had a population of 49 in the Canada 2006 Census. Davin is named in honor of Nicholas Flood Davin, lawyer, journalist, and politician. He was born in Ireland in 1843 and was educated at Queen's College, Cork. In 1872. He came to Canada and worked as a newspaperman in Toronto until called to Ontario Bar in 1874. In 1883 he move to Regina and published the Regina Leader, the first newspaper in the territorial district of Assiniboia.
