Federico Degetau fue un político, abogado, escritor y el primer comisionado de Puerto Rico residente en Washington. Su deseo era que se estableciera una fundación cultural, lo cual no se logró hasta recientemente cuando el gobierno municipal de Aibonito, bajo la administración del alcalde Willie Alicea, adquirió la propiedad (2010) - también conocida como "Quinta Rosacruz" -, la rehabilitaron y la convirtieron en esta casa museo.

Federico Degetau was a politican, lawyer, writer and the first Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico to the United States House of Representatives. He wanted that a cultural foundation be established, but that was not achieved until recently when Aibonito's municipal administration, under the leadership of Major Willie Alicea, acquired the property (2010) - also known as "Quinta Rosacruz" - remodeled it and established the present day museum in it.
