Geocache Description:

Sanshiro pond in University of Tokyo is considered as one of the most beautiful man made pond in Edo period and it was constructed in 1638. The pond and garden is the oasis of Tokyo Univerisity with beautiful lush green nature.

 

 


It has the previous original name, later, the pond is famous for the name "Sanshiro" which is the novel written by Soseki Natsume. In the novel, the main actor first met the women he inspire in this pond and later famous for "Sanshiro" pond. The shape of the pond is in the shape of character heart in Japanese (kokoro or shin). 

Taking a walk around the lake and garden to get clue for physical cache. Listen the sound of nature and have a relaxing and peaceful moment. 

This geocache wants you to explore the surrouding area of pond. The virtual way point is one of the beautiful views of the pond to take picture. You need to walk around the pond to gather info for physical cache. 

Physical cache is placed in N 35  AB.CDE   E 139 JK.LMN

Hint - AB and JK is the same as virtual way point, C = D- E, D=how many wooden bars are supporting that shelter)*0.5, E = No. of alphabet 'k' in the original name of the pond (can find it in warning sign near pond), L = how many long wooden bars are used in the bridge near lake, M = L + E, N = D The cache is inside the campus quite far from pond. Bring your own pen.
