This little park gets a renewal, as it housed one of my very first caches, all about the lovely, fragrant tree at the back. Give it a smell!
The Medicine Wheel is a Native American concept and physical metaphor. It draws attention to seasons, relatives, plants, light, and position. It typically is made of stones in a circle, with spokes leading to a central cairn.
This geocache series is an attempt to circle the city of San Francisco with it's it's own Medicine Wheel.
It will cover all cardinal directions, and is loosely based on the wheel in Bighorn National Forest in Wyoming.
It is also a metaphor, literal and personal. With a recent diagnosis of diabetes type II, this project will keep me on my bike- the whole series is also a fantastic whole day bike ride, and I will be setting all caches on my bike, while regulating my blood sugar. All caches are built with pill bottles- medicine, if you wil, that I need to take- and camo'd with stones, wood, dirt, sand and other natural materials. The hope is to be released on the reliance of these artificial things, the new medicine being exercise.
