Eagle Head was settled by descendants of the Liverpool settlers in the 1760s. The community took its name from this bay, Eagle Head Bay, which was named after an incident with an eagle. (Ref. Nova Scotia Place Names by David E. Scott)
Down the road from the parking coordinates, you can see the remains of the wharf. Take time to enjoy the view or walk along Eagle Head Beach. The blue building across the bay is the old Beach Meadows School which is now called Seaside Centre and is used as a community centrte.
You may want to walk further down the road to extend your view and/or photo opportunities. Please respect private property and do not turn in or block driveways.
