Conhecida como "Terra do Morango", Bom Princípio é uma pequena cidade localizada no Vale do Rio Caí que possui cerca de 12 mil habitantes e foi colonizada por alemães na primeira metade do século XIX.
O cache está localizado em frente ao "Morangão" o mais notável símbolo da cidade.
A fruta é produzida por cerca de 160 produtores em regime de agricultura familiar, num total de cerca de mil toneladas, sendo que cada produtor possui uma área média de meio hectare. A cada dois anos é realizada a "Festa Nacional do Moranguinho" em Bom Princípio.

Known as "Land of the Strawberry", Bom Princípio is a small city located the Valley of River Caí which has about 12,000 inhabitants and was settled by Germans in the first half of 19th century.
The cache is located in front of the "Morangão", the most striking symbol of the city.
The fruit is produced by about 160 farmers in family farming system, totalizing about 1,000 tons. Each family has an average area of about half a hectare. Every two years it is held the "National Strawberry Festival" in Bom Princípio.
