The city of Sidney Montana is known as the "Sunrise City". It is the largest city in the area. It was incorporated in 1911. It is situated on the eastern edge of Richland County along the Yellowstone River. Both the city of Sidney and the county of Richland are important agriculture areas of the United States. Sidney agriculture boomed with the irrigation project of the Yellowstone river in 1907. Oil and agriculture are the main industries. Crops such as sugar beets, corn, hay, wheat, barley, peas, and safflower are just some of the agricutlural crops in and around the city. Little known facts: Busch Agriculture Resources (malt barley) and Sidney Sugars (sugar beets) reside in Sidney. Behind you is a USDA service center for the area which houses the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resource Conservation Service and, Richland County Conservation District. The Sidney area offers excellent fishing, which includes the prehistoric paddlefish. Search fo agates along the Yellowstone river. There are plenty of hunting opportunities in the area. Be sure to check out the nearby Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site.

With the initial placement of this cache there are many collectibles and travel bugs.
