Geocache Description:

A puzzle cache designed to teach you a little about our home country!

Oh Canada! The home of hockey, maple syrup and apologizing. We love our home and native land, but we find most people down here think Canada is only igloos filled with people who pronounce about "aboot". Canada is the second largest country in the world, we live 4 years longer than our US neighbours (maybe due to free health care?) and gave the United States Celine Dion, Nickelback and Justin Bieber, because for some reason, you don't like any of our good music...Sorry.

To solve this puzzle, solve for the letters and plug them in to the coordinates:

N 35 eh.jdb W 94 if.acg

a. A kids program was very popular in Canada from the 50s to the 80s. It featured a man playing a recorder, a rooster and a giraffe. Subtract the number of letters in the rooster's name from the number of letters in the giraffe's name to find a.

b. The town of Sudbury, Ontario has the world's biggest something. The number associated with this item is b.

c. Hockey is only 1 of 2 national sports Canada has. What is the other national sport? Count the letters and that is c.

d. When was Canada confederated? Write the date in numerical form. Add all the numbers together and divide by 10. That is d.

e. Here's one for the Math fans. The Canadian Football League awards the Grey Cup to it's champion. How many more times has it been awarded than the Super Bowl. That is x. If you are solving this in December or January, subtract one since the Grey Cup will have been played an extra time. Now, solve for e: e = (x+10)/9-6.

f. How many of the following acting roles were not played by Canadian-born actors? Captain Kirk, Ace Ventura, Anthony Stoner, Dr. Doug Ross, Sookie Stackhouse, Austin Powers, Perry Mason, Deadpool, Regina George. The answer is f.

g. What city's old town is Canada's only fortified city with the walls still intact? Subtract the number of letters from the second word from the letters of the first word to find g.

h. From 1990-2015, how many total NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB championships did Canadian based teams win? The answer is h.

i. Here's an easy one, how many oceans does Canada touch? The answer is i.

j. Poutine is a classic Canadian dish (and delicious!). How many main ingredients does Poutine contain? The answer is j.
