The baseball consists of 111 caches, one for each year the World Series was played. These should be mostly park & grab caches along the New Hampshire-Maine border south of Conway and Fryeburg.
Besides geocaching, my next obsession is baseball. I grew up on Long Island in New York and was a HUGE New York Mets fan. I still am. I was inspired to start planning this series when I thought they would be Champions again in 2015. Maybe I'll get to add it to the art for 2016. Being a Mets fan really builds character, as I'm sure Red Sox fans know (Bill Buckner is still a hero in my book).
Most of the caches are winter friendly placement. However, parking will be an issue once it snows, and several of the roads are not maintained for winter use. I do not recommend the series in the winter unless you are using snowshoes or cross-country skis. Also, Foss Mountain Road will be difficult to impossible to navigate without an AWD vehicle. You might choose to hike it, especially between Porter Rd. and Willis Bean Rd.
In 1945, who won the World Series
