Imagine my surprise when yesterday’s word on our Word of the Day Calendar was “discombobulated!” I was totally discombobulated! Apologies, Mom.
I love the way it sounds! I love what it means! I love the way it looks (at least in certain fonts)!
Some of the fonts that work for me are Bauhaus 93, Berlin San FB, Century Gothic and Juice ITC.
Ones that don’t work so well include Arial, Broadway, Calibri, Comic Sans MS and Old English Text.

Sagelily, the linguist, recently explained to me what it is about “discombobulated” in certain fonts that pushes my happy button. And yes, she went on to say this is added evidence, as if any were needed, that I’m a total Loony Tunes.
She identified the number of my happy buttons pushed by “discombobulated” as “N.” Based on that, I’ve identified the numerical equivalents of their 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. occurrences as A, B, C, D, etc.
The last four digits of the cache’s North and West coordinates are A . (E-C) D A and (B-C-A) . (N+F) C B respectively. It’s in a lovely and lonely little park with a great playground. Watch for curious neighbours and avoid this one at night. No flora need be probed or disturbed. The prize for the First-to-Finder will be e-mailed to them or it can be picked up at our house.
