Geocache Description:

This site is an SSSI, this cache has been placed with the kind permission of - Lizard National Nature Reserve Read the information Plaque and have a look around!!! The Plaque is due West of the 'Alter' which is the highest point of the settlement.

Brass Plumbing tube with screw top contains log and small pencil, not much room for anything else. Please be mind full of the surroundings and replace the cache as the Hint suggests Please ensure wildlife and the natural environment are not harmed in the pursuit of geocaching. Geocaches are placed so that plant and animal life are safe from both intentional and unintentional harm The settlement of Kynance Gate lies on a gentle slope on the edge of open moorland above a turbulent stream which runs down through a rocky gorge to the sea. Kynans is Cornish for narrow valley or gorge and the site may well have been chosen for its easy defensibly on the seaward side.
