There have been seven double dissolutions of the Australian Parliament.

I still remember 'The Dismissal' in 1975 when, on 11 November at Government House, Sir John Kerr advised Gough Whitlam that he was terminating his commission as prime minister and swore in Malcolm Fraser as caretaker prime minister.
On the afternoon of 11 November, the Senate passed the appropriation bills and the two houses were dissolved.

the speech

"Ladies and gentleman (applause and cheering), well may we say God Save the Queen (pause) because nothing will save the Governor-General (applause and cheering)."
"The proclamation which you have just heard read by the Governor-General’s official secretary was countersigned ‘Malcolm Fraser’ (boos and jeering) who will undoubtedly go down in Australian history from Remembrance Day 1975 as Kerr’s cur."
