Ruardean is an ancient village, with an excellent 11th Century pub within 150ft of the cache. With evidence of occupation for over 2,000 years, the road in front of the cache is also Roman in age. A natural spring can also be found 150ft up Caudle Lane. Marvel at the parish church and the outstanding views across to the Brecon Beacons. There are excellent viewpoints close to the village, in Eddy's Lane, where it is possible to see for around forty miles, from the Malvern Hills to the Black Mountains, with the Wye valley below. The cache is in the owner's house and is accessible from The Square. The building itself is a seventeenth century public house, long since converted, and with its last use as a dairy, with an ice cream shop attached. The building is now a private residence. You should not need to enter the garden to find the cache.
