Inaugurado em 2001 pelo arquiteto Luiz Telles, o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, com mais de 4 mil m² distribuídos em quatro andares e um subsolo, é um dos polos culturais de São Paulo, concentrando diversas atividades artísticas como exposições, cinema, teatro, literatura, dança e música.
O edifício do CCBB foi construído cem anos antes e adquirido pelo Banco do Brasil em 1923.
Graças ao restauro do arquiteto Hippolyto Pujol, o espaço ainda preserva características arquitetônicas do início do século – da Belle Époque Paulista, período de influência francesa – como platibandas (faixas horizontais no superior do prédio) e mansardas (janelas sobre o telhado).
Também são notáveis a estrutura de concreto armado (uma inovação na época), a grande área das janelas emolduradas por pilastras monumentais, o vão interno que atravessa todos os andares, iluminado por uma claraboia, além do busto do deus grego Mercúrio, o deus do comércio, embaixo das iniciais "BB" do banco.

Built in 2001 by architect Luiz Telles, the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, with more than 4000 m² spread over four floors and a basement, is one of the cultural centers in São Paulo, focusing various artistic activities such as exhibitions, cinema, theater, literature , dance and music.
The CCBB building was built a hundred years earlier and purchased by the Bank of Brasil in 1923.
Thanks to the restoration of Hippolyto Pujol architect, the space still preserves architectural features of the turn of the century - the Belle Époque Paulista, French influence period - as parapets (horizontal stripes on the top of the building) and dormers (windows on the roof).
Also notable are the reinforced concrete structure (an innovation at the time), the area of the framed windows by monumental pilasters, the internal will that runs through all floors, illuminated by a skylight, plus the Greek god Mercury bust, the god of trade, under the initials "BB" bank.
