Geocache Description:

The word “apostle” means ‘one sent’ as messenger, authorized agent or missionary. The word became an official title for Jesus’ 12 disciples after his death and resurrection. The 12 were sent out in pairs to strengthen and encourage each other, teamwork with others will strengthen us as well, searching for that elusive cache that will bring the ‘smiley’. Geocaching will not let me put out caches in pairs but I hope teamwork will help you find them.

Matthew was a strange one for Jesus to call to be a disciple as his trade was that of a tax collector which caused others to despise and outcast him due to this dishonest career. To Matthew’s credit, he abandoned his corrupt but financially profitable way of life to follow Jesus.
