Geocache Description:

The word “apostle” means ‘one sent’ as messenger, authorized agent or missionary. The word became an official title for Jesus’ 12 disciples after his death and resurrection. The 12 were sent out in pairs to strengthen and encourage each other, teamwork with others will strengthen us as well, searching for that elusive cache that will bring the ‘smiley’. Geocaching will not let me put out caches in pairs but I hope teamwork will help you find them.

James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John were called the “Sons of Thunder”. James was also a fisherman and was told by Jesus he would become a “fisher of men”. He was one of the core group of disciples and asked for places of honor in Jesus’ kingdom. Maybe to his downfall, James was ambitious, short-tempered, judgmental and deeply committed to Jesus. He was one of the first to be martyred for his faith.
