Having commuted from home to Dyersburg (and back) every Sunday for the past several years, I could not help but notice that Hwy 51 was perfectly laid out for a power trail (PT). So, 4-years later, I have finally done something about it.
This PT runs along Hwy 51 between Covington and Dyersburg. Caches are placed on both sides of the highway at locations where you can safely pull off the road and where the presence of muggles is minimal.
There is a break in the series in the city of Ripley, but it picks up again outside the city. There are some nice caches in Ripley hidden by tigerbert73 that should help fill in the gap.
All the containers are of two basic types which will become readily evident once you have found a few. No containers are placed on the ground and each was placed specific to each site. As such, PLEASE do not move the containers or the logs forward. PLEASE sign each log and replace each container where found. Also, if you find a container is missing, do not replace it. Submit a "Needs Maintenance" log and I will replace it ASAP. Trying to move the logs forward will not work as the containers/logs are two different sizes. And moving the containers forward will not work since each is site specific. Complying with these requests/pleas will help ensure the PT remains as originally created and allow those following you to be able to enjoy the series as intended.
Please be careful pulling on and off the road. Hwy 51 can get busy at times, so please be safe.
