9:30 - 11:00 AM, Saturday 16th April
Amarna Reserve, Roseville
In conjunction with Ku-Ring-Gai Council, Geocaching NSW would like to invite all geocachers (both members and non-members) to help celebrate this year’s International CITO week by lending a hand to clean up part of the Little Digger Track in Amarna Reserve, Roseville. Your participation in this event will earn you the souvenir for the first International CITO Week in 2016. (The second week will be in September).
This is not an ordinary CITO event, though...we're doing something a little bit different! Instead of clearing out rubbish, we are helping Ku-Ring-Gai's Bushcare team with the removal of weeds from the area. In particular, we are targeting the removal of Chlorophytum comosum, often known as spider plant or ribbon plant.
A Bushcare Trainer from the council will help kick off the event by helping our volunteers to identify the correct weed and the best methods of its removal. The initial meeting place is at the published coordinates: the corner of Roseville Avenue and Amarna Parade, Roseville. This is the trailhead and the start of the Little Digger Track. Recommended parking is in Amarna Parade.
Please wear long trousers, a long sleeved shirt and sturdy close toed shoes. Gardening gloves are essential; hat, drinking water and insect repellant are advised. All other weeding equipment is provided for us on the day, so there will be nothing else to bring.
Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so you receive any announcements.
