Twelve Years a Slave - Barbin Landing Traditional Cache

This is the former site of Ludgar Barbin Landing where in 1853 Solomon Northup and his attorney Henry Northup boarded a steamer on the Red River to New Orleans. Eventually Solomon went on up to New York where he rejoined his family after twelve years.

The landing site is just down the road from area that was Fort DeRussy  and is now on an oxbow of the Red River.
