Oldham Pond is a 232 acre Massachusetts “great pond” located in the towns of Hanson and Pembroke, Massachusetts. Oldham Pond drains into Furnace Pond in Pembroke which is, in turn, a secondary public water supply for the City of Brockton. The shoreline is well developed with residential buildings. In years past these were mostly summer cottages but nearly all of them have been repurposed to year round homes. Oldham Pond's designation as a “great pond” means that the public is allowed to access the pond over undeveloped land by foot for the purpose of fishing. The Town of Pembroke maintains a public boat access ramp at its swimming area on Wompatuck Street. It is in this area that the geocache is located.
The Hanson and Pembroke area used to be the home of several boys and girls summer camps. Most closed in the 1950's and 1960's but Camp Pembroke, a summer camp for Jewish girls, is still very active on the northern shore.

Because the location of the geocache is a very public place I highly recommend that cachers visit the area during the off season and beware of muggles.
