Geocache Description:

In 2016, geocachers around the globe will gather together during the weeks of April 16 – 24 and September 17 – 25 to pick up trash, remove invasive species, repair trails and more—plus earn a pretty sweet new souvenir.

Aberdeen is lucky enough to have a number of green spaces within the city which we, as Geocachers, can make the most of.  Come join us for a CITO (Cash In Trash Out) up on Kincorth Hill, locally known as The Grumps.

2016 CITO

The event will take place up on Kincorth Hill which is within the Kincorth Local Nature Reserve.  At present the plan is to meet at 11am at the car park on Nigg Way (just off Abbotswell Crescent) for a quick Health and Safety briefing before heading up onto the hill for a good clean-up! We expect to finish about 1 pm.

There are a few parking spaces at the car park on Nigg Way, but more parking is available on street on Abbotswell Crescent. If you're using public transport, the number 18 and the number 21 buses both stop near by.

Aberdeen City Rangers have offered to bring bags and litter pickers. If you have got your own gloves and wellies, then please feel free to bring them along - if I need to order gloves for you in advance, please let me know and I'll get some in advance.  The City Rangers have also offered the availability of their truck on site to bring full rubbish bags down to a collection point to be picked up by Council waste management.

Geokids are most welcome to come along to help and it's a safe place for them to explore - but parents/guardians are to be responsible for them during the event and for warning them in advance what they should and should not pick up.

There are a number of paths around the hill and there is terrain suitable for everyone who can wield gloves and a bag!

Expect the tidy-up to last about 2 hours - just in time for lunch! Gandrs lives very near by and has kindly offered us the use of her toilet during the CITO and we are welcome to have a BBQ afterwards - so if you wish to join us there, please bring something along to barbeque/nibble on. Thanks Gandrs! :D

There's already a couple of caches up on the hill and might be more closer to the time. You never know ;)
