Entry to the museum is not required to find the cache, although why not go and have a look at the interesting exhibits if it is open and you have time? If you don’t want to pay the fee to visit, you can still see the ships from the quayside and it makes an interesting alternative to shopping for visitors to the city.
If you are taking a taxi from the city, ask to be taken to the Wyndham Hotel, Balçova. There is also a bus to İnciraltı from Konak bus station that will take you to the jetty.
