This cache-path was hidden in celebration of our daughter, Goni, 10th birthday. She thought she's FTF... The 4 caches take you from Stella Maris, on top of the Carmel, down through a historical and beautiful path, all the way to Bat-Galim. From there you can take the cable-car back to Stella Maris, or enjoy other paths in Haifa.
The cache is located next to the Prosper Chapel. This spot was the first location of the Carmelite group after their return from Europe, and prior to building the monastery on the top.
The bunkers were built by the British. They served as part of the "Messadah in Carmel" plan. As the German occupation expanded towards the middle east in WWII, reaching Greece and North Africa, the Jewish community in Israel planned for the day of the Nazi arrival to Israel. The leaders came up with a last-line plan, in case nothing stops the Germans - they will stay on the Carmel, and protect themselves till the last drop of blood. Just like the Jews of Messadah during the Roman occupation in 73AD. Luckily, the Germans were stopped in El Alamein, and never reached Israel.
