Group of Seven Traditional Cache

When Canadians say "Group of Seven," most think of a group of artists formed in Ontario, but whose members ranged across most of the country, painting the landscapes of a large and wondrous land. For this cache, though, you're interested in the landscape, but it's a different 'group of seven' that should catch your eye.

The coördinates will lead you into Mouat Park, on the edge of Ganges on Salt Spring Island. Your GPS can be a bit bouncy here under the tree cover, especially on a cloudy day, so we will tell you that the cache is on the south side of the creek (fast flowing in winter, almost dry in summer). No wading necessary—there's a small bridge nearby for those who wind up on the wrong side of the waters.

The original container was a camouflaged pill bottle, fatter and taller than a film canister. Thie 2017 replacement is about the same height and width, but thinner No room for swag, or a pen. Remember to bring your own writing stick.

No bushwhacking involved, and you should not need to disturb any vegetation to retrieve the cache.
