Geocache Description:

Alne is a pretty and typical Yorkshire village with a population of 550 and lies in the little valley of the Kyle river. The Norman church dates from about 1150. To the south of the village at Alne Cross is a stone plague cross dating from 1604. The villagers and traders left their money and goods here when the plague prevented markets from functioning. Originally hid this cache on 22 June 2002 and renewed the box on 20 June 2016, how 14 years have flown by!
