History of Vincent Grade-Acton Metrolink Station
The Vincent Grade/Acton Metrolink Station was built extremely quickly after the Northridge Earthquake. It opened on January 31, 1994 just 14 days after the quake
Vincent Grade is the name of the pass trains use to rise up out of the canyon and into the Antelope Valley.
The platform has shelters designed to look like an old western town. Within the shelters that face the platform are two Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs), a payphone and some benches. There are also a line of newspaper boxes facing the parking lot. The main structure along the platform is a small enclosed office for a security guard or station host (with a no public restrooms sign).
The station is on the edge of a parking lot and has one access road that sweeps south of the station before turning and reaching the Sierra Highway at its own traffic light (the road is labeled Metrolink Station at the light).
The only place nearby is the Vincent Hill Station Restaurant and Saloon
