Ikuta J.H.S., the predecessor of the present Kobe-Ikuta J.H.S., was established in 1947. The school then separated Kobe J.H.S. in the following year, but both J.H.S's were combined again in 1990 as today's Kobe-Ikuta J.H.S.
At the Great Hanshin earthquake (Hanshin-Awaji Dai-shinsai), the school opend its gymnasium as well as classrooms for those who lost places to live, accommodating as many as 2,300 people.
Chuo Ward of Kobe City still designates the school as an official evacuation site today.
The cache is placed somewhere at a side walk along a public street nearby. It is reacheable on the sidewalk, but still please be careful as the traffic nearby is heavy in certain hours during the daytime.

市立神戸生田中学校は、神戸市中央区の元町駅のすぐ北にある神戸市立の中学校です。
前身となる市立生田中学校は1947年（昭和22年）に開校しました。同校は翌年、市立神戸中学校を分離しましたが、1990年（平成２年）に再度合併、新たに市立神戸生田中学校として発足しました。
1995年（平成７年）１月の「阪神・淡路大震災」の際は、体育館や校舎を避難場所として開放し、一時最大2,300名もの方々を収容していたそうです。
現在でも神戸市中央区により、災害時における元町地区の「収容避難所」として指定されています。
キャッシュは、市立神戸生田中学校の周辺の歩道上のどこかに設置しました。歩道上から安全に捜索が可能ですが、近隣の道路の交通量が多い時間帯があるので、車には十分注意してください。
