In grade 3 I did a school project on the bridges around Eltham. So I have used this research to start a series of caches in these locations.
This bridge on Bridge Street is a major thoroughfare connecting Eltham to Montmorency and Greensborough. There are a number pf old black and white photos showing teh road and bridge from the early 1900's. The area still looks very similar. Some of the old timber pylons from an earlier bridge can be seen next to the concrete footing in the middle of the creek.
Depending on the water flow it looks like a small creek, and sometimes barely flows. But after nearby rain the water rises and flows quickly, and then returns to a trickle within a day or 2. It's hard to imagine but this path was flooded during 2004 and 2005
This cache is on the Diamond Creek Trail. This a popular trail, this portion on the west side of the creek is very quiet, unlike the path on the east side.
