The "Giardino Sotto le Mura" (Garden under the walls) has a length of 150 meters and occupies an area of 6500 square meters. From the boardwalk, built on the spur of the walls of the Castle, visitors can enjoy a fascinating journey, exciting, magical, when the sun goes down the ridge wall is illuminated and the colors of the stone reflect the colors of the sunset. The Garden offers to citizens and tourists a nice place to take a break, where escaping the scorching sun of our hot summers, a perfect place for reading in the green of the city. Inside the garden there are numerous green spaces, a small theater for seven works by the sardinian sculptor Pinuccio Sciola. The works, donated by the artist, represent the relationship between man and the city, while the three "fountains", retrieved and re-invented by Sciola, tell the story of Cagliari through the artist's vision: the Castello district, the sunken city of Santa Igia, Punic city on the waters of Santa Gilla pond, and finally the city of salt with its pyramids of salt.

Il giardino-passeggiata ha una lunghezza di 150 metri e occupa un area di 6500 metri quadri. Dalla passeggiata, costruita sul contrafforte delle mura di Castello, il visitatore potrà godere di un percorso suggestivo, emozionante, magico, quando al calar del sole il costone murario viene illuminato e i colori della pietra riflettono i colori del tramonto. Il Giardino offre, al cittadino e al turista, un piacevole luogo dove fare una pausa, dove riparasi dal sole cocente delle nostre calde estati, un luogo ideale per la lettura immersi nel verde cittadino. Al suo interno sono presenti numerosi spazi verdi, un piccolo teatro per rappresentazioni e sette opere dello scultore sardo Pinuccio Sciola. Le opere presenti, donate dall’artista, rappresenterebbero il rapporto tra l’uomo e la città, mentre le tre “fontane “, recuperate e reinventate da Sciola, raccontano la storia di Cagliari tramite la visione dell’artista: la città arroccata di Castello, la città sommersa di Santa Igia, città punica sull'acqua sulle sponde di Santa Gilla, ed infine la città del sale con le sue piramidi, rappresentante il sistema delle saline.
