Geocache Description:

Grassmoor is a village in Derbyshire near to Chesterfield with its crooked spire. This is one of my first two caches to welcome you the area and is on the approach road from Hasland/Chesterfield direction.

Please park responsibly as this can be a busy road.

Wheelchair users may require help to get the cache as it requires leaving the pavement by a few feet onto an uneven verge.

Please supervise children due to the road.

The cache is back in action, the new container is a small one with room for some small geocoins or such, it contains a pencil and log book. BYOP (Bring Your Own Pen) there is a pencil in the cache when placed

Grassmoor is a village approximately three miles to the south of Chesterfield. Its original name, according to parish records of 1568, was Gresmore meaning 'Grey Copse'. Grassmoor formally housed many miners, initially working at the former Grassmoor Colliery owned by Mr Barnes, which operated on the site from the mid 1840s until its closure in 1967 and further local mines around the area have also closed since the mid-eighties.

This is a nice easy start to my caches that I intend to get wilier with.
