Top Wood is one of the many small to medium sized plats of Forest Service land around Portglenone on the slopes of Tully Hill.
This wood is in an attractive narrow belt of mainly broad-leaved trees that follows a zigzag route for about 700m.
In the spring season there is a flush of Bluebells and Wild Garlic in the area. There is also alot of wildlife to be seen including a variety of birds and squirrels. At the end of the walk
there is a wonderful view taking in the River Bann in the distance as well as Slieve Gallion and the Sperrins.
Please take care at the parking co-ords provided. This is a small space at the entrance to the wood. Extra caution should be taken when exiting from here as there is a bend in the road and it can be quite busy at times. There is also a parking area in the direction of Portglenone which is only a short distance from the gate.
The cache itself is a mediuim clip lock box - comoflaged. Please take care to replace & re-cover as found.
