This is the second of seven caches placed on the road/trail that runs from the top of Gallant Street Extension in Stephenville to the top of Gaudon’s Lane in Kippens – thus the name “Back Road to Kippens” for the group. They were placed to encourage cachers to visit the area and take in the great walk and scenery, animals ranging from birds and rabbits to moose and bear, all while completing the many caches along the way.
This cache (and many others) can be accessed from the top of Gallant’s Street Extension, but the trail is usually quite wet here so, unless you are on an ATV or in a small truck or Jeep, you will probably want to attack them from the Kippens side.
This particular cache is placed in a spot that remains above the snow line (we hope) so it is available in winter just for that reason. Good thing, since it is placed near the snowmobiling path. It is a small, camo’ed lock and lock container that contains a small pencil, logbook, and a few tradables. Happy caching!
