Geocache Description:

A small camo'd container near a bevy of Eurasian immigrants

This gentle dove was first spotted at a bird feeder in Chilliwack in 2005.  With 3-4 broods a year they're quickly establishing themselves in the area.

The telephone/power lines in the area of GZ seem to be a favourite hang out.

The dove's name ("Eurasian" Collared Dove) comes from it's immigration from Asia to Europe.

It was introduced to the Bahamas in the 1970's and by 1982 had found it's way to Florida.

If you thought an owl just moved into your neighbourhood, you could be mistaking the "coo COO coo" of the Collared Dove for the "Hoot Hoot" of the owl. It's a common enough mistake.

NOTE: Well, this is embarrassing, I took a pair of binoculars and couldn't find a single Eurasian Collared dove, on the line, seems these are another variety of pigeons or doves. Anyone know what kind? Anyway these little wonders (ECD) are in town, keep an eye out for them (or an ear).
