Nestled alongside the Naches River, just off of Highway 410 on Nile Road, is Eagle Rock.
This area of the Chinook Scenic Byway is a gateway to recreational activities, including camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, mushroom gathering, bird watching, outdoor photography, hunting, off-road touring, and snowmobiling.
Wildlife viewing is abundant, as the area enjoys one of Washington's largest elk herds together with abundant deer, bear, big-horn sheep, mountain goats, and wild turkeys.
As a recreational hub, there are many amenities nearby to help you prepare for your adventures, including a grocery, gas station, restaurant, and accommodations.
The cache: Near the bridge is a rock pile along the river. Walk to the bottom of the rock pile. Go towards the right past a tree to the small rock pile. Cache is in a cubby hole in the rocks.
2016 was the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service, and to celebrate, Visit Rainier and WSGA hosted the Visit Rainier Centennial GeoTour - 100 caches placed in and around Mount Rainier National Park. The geocaches highlighted the rich history, scenic wonders, quaint communities, and hidden gems of the Rainier region. Participants received geocoin and pathtag prizes for finding all the caches.
