Geocache Description:

This cache is place in honor of Blimpo, a Geocacher from Saranac Lake, New York. He is the geocacher who is responsible for getting me excited about Geocaching. I started looking for his caches while running or biking in Saranac Lake.

This is a very similar hide as the typical Blimpo hide. I have made many laps around the same area until the elusive little bugger was finally visible, Don't give up looking!

Can you spot the cache in the picture?

Congratulations to lrb&mlb for being FTF on this cache honoring my friend in Saranac Lake. It's a small world when the FTF on a cache here in Eagle River, AK knows the Saranac Lake, NY area.

Blimpo just hid a cache, 5-15-15, called Saranac Lake, Alaska? (visit link) It tells about old silent movies that supposedly took place in Alaska, but were filmed in Saranac Lake.

Blimpo is an amazing Geocacher. He lives in Saranac Lake New York near Lake Placid. He grew up in that area, and knows the area and the area's rich history. His caches take you to amazing places and teach you the history of his area better than anyone else I know. My Geowife grew up in Saranac Lake, and we have gone places she didn't know existed. If you ever go the the Saranac Lake - Lake Placid area, you need to look for his caches.

As of 5-13-2015 He has 901 finds and 125 hides. He is famous for hiding a small bison tube, painted a flat green color, in a tree. Sometimes they are almost impossible to find. If you click on the "Related Web Page" link above the cache coordinates, you can see pictures of some of his caches and the infamous small bison tube.
