Admittedly this isn’t the prettiest part of Croydon, but there's some interesting, often overlooked, art on the walls at the given co-ordinates
At the co-ordinates there are 2 murals. The first mural located above the entrance opened on 24th June 2006 and is called ‘Stepping Out’. The purpose of the mural was to create a project to help bring people in Croydon together, and celebrate the borough's diversity.

The ‘Stepping Out’ mural is in the underpass that goes to the Whitgift shopping center. The mural opened on 31st January 2011 and depicts some of Croydon’s characters, including Surrey Street Market flower seller Roseanna Lovett and 3 members of the Croydon male voice choir..

Both murals were created by a group of Croydon artists who increase public art and involve the local community in its development. They have many other murals in Croydon, so keep your eye out!
