Geocache Description:

Welcome to the City of Ritzville! We love Memorial Day Weekend around here and if you stick around after the Ritzville Cache Cow Event Cache you will find out how much. And the growing number of geocaches is an even better reason to host this third annual event! Come and visit our local area caches for a caching contest with prizes and hopefully more surprises to come.


Welcome Geocachers
to the 3rd Annual Ritzville Small Town Cache Cow!

Event registration begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015
at the posted coordinates!


At the check in table you will:

• Sign the Event Log

• Receive instructions on the First GeOlympics

• Receive a GeoBingo Card

• Learn about the Challenge of Mount Olympus
and 
Tyche’s Poker Run


Geocaching 101 Available for New Geocachers!!


~A Note About the Challenge and Poker Run~


First and foremost, we want to stress the importance of safety. You will have more than enough time to find the caches throughout the course of the day. So please drive safely and carefully. We also want to stress that it is not required to form TEAMS. If you would like to for the camaraderie or to save on fuel, that's fine. But it is not required.

All participants must sign a liability waiver or they will not be allowed to participate. These waivers will be available at the morning event. If children will be participating, it must be with a parent or legal guardian who has signed the waiver for the minor.

9 a.m. Let the Games Begin

  • GeoBingo
  • GeOlympic Games Open
  • PLUS Geocaching 101!!

10 a.m. The Challenge of Mount Olympus: an optional cache hunting contest available for all who are interested!

  • The rules for the contest will be explained.
  • Entry forms will be distributed.
  • Go find the caches and return to the depot when you've completed your entry form!
  • The first 50 cachers to return with completed Challenge of Mount Olympus entry forms will be awarded a 2015 Ritzville Cache Cow event pathtag!

10 a.m. Tyche’s Poker Run (optional). May the Prophecy of Apollo guide you in selecting cards at random from various caches. The geocacher with the best poker hand wins a prize.

  • Upon entry you will receive instructions on how to obtain your “Official Poker Hand” scorecard, which will provide you with necessary coordinates and instructions.
  • The rules for the poker will be explained, so please be prompt in arriving!
  • Only one poker hand may be played per Geocaching ID and only one ID will be allowed per person. All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.

10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Geocaching 101 Continues
  • GeOlympic and GeoBingo Games Continue
  • Tally for Mount Olympus Challenge

PLUS Make Your Own Swag!

5-7 p.m. No-host dinner, comradery, at Jake's Cafe and Diner, 1604 W First Ave.

  • 5 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. Tally for Tyche’s Poker Run*
  • 5 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. Tally for Mount Olympus Challenge
  • 6 p.m. Acknowledgements, accolades, prizes and awards begin


*Tally for Tyche's Poker Run Rules You will be required to end your caching day and report to the Tally for Tyche’s Poker Run between 5 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. If you arrive after all the scorecards are turned in, your scorecard will not be accepted and you will forfeit the game. Upon arrival to the tally, present your scorecard and it will be inspected for all the necessary proof of found caches. When it is determined that you have earned a complete hand, your complete hand will be tallied and put on display with all other hands. The game is Draw Poker and the player at the end with the best hand will be deemed the Champion. In the event of a tie for the best hand, the tied players will face off in a head to head poker match to determine the winner. Winning Poker Hands (strongest to weakest):
